Demonizing anyone reliant on public money, get people repeating the Daily Mail headlines, ‘we must end this something for nothing culture’, ‘Labour went on a bigger spending spree than a wag at the world cup’, ‘Mend Britain’s broken society, these people are a drain on the taxpayer’. I could go on but it wouldn’t be fair to steal Cameron’s hard work. But why has it been so successful? Why is nobody arguing? Well the ally of a media whose biggest customer is the mass working classes certainly helps. Also the lack of a real radically opposite opposition helps too, its in our faces 24/7 and there’s no one offering an opposing answer. That is the real aim we must fulfil, not simply ‘throwing stones’ but rather, coming up with a solution.

A YouGov poll completed this week stated that Brits across the country are becoming more and more content with Austerity, stating that while cuts to our services are still severely unpopular, we are starting to accept that it is normality for the government to take away what we are entitled too. Yet we have nothing to say against this. We are awfully content. Cuts DO NOT NEED to be made to the working classes. The rich are getting richer as this goes on, many avoid paying tax and the economy is failing yet the government still overlooks this simply because the mansion owning elites are their voters! Well there are more of us. We must forget this we’re-different-to-the-underclass-drivel. Its not the immigrants. Its not lazy scroungers or our neighbours It’s the government who are to blame. Our realisation must be to understand these stereotypes of society are false. They are not the ones taking away our rights and cuts and whatever else. The government are.

George Osborne this week tried to pass legislation through the House of Lords to introduce contracts for employees to sell their workers ‘rights’ in exchange for shares in the company. These rights would include unfair dismissals, flexible working hours among other areas. This, quite frankly, is inhumane. We must remember these are not privileges, these are our RIGHTS! People have put so much work in to giving the working classes, who were once cheap slave labour, a voice. People have fought and protested for us to have equal rights but now we are going to go backwards. Along with this in the form of cuts to welfare, taxes on council houses with spare bedrooms (the new poll tax) and the privatization of our National Health Service we’re slowly being sent into poverty. Again, that Cameron propaganda, straight from his little black book of tricks. I wonder what the next bullet point in that book of potential Daily Mail headlines is? Well there’s certainly a few ideas already floating about.

One big one from Liam Walker, who runs the Hitler Youth… ahem, I mean Tory Youth wing in Oxfordshire, who is also a pal of David Cameron’s, stated yesterday that hard up families on benefits who are being forced to go to food banks wouldn’t have to if they weren’t spending all of their money on booze.

It seems these lies are not even about tough decisions to fix the economy, not that we were ever stupid enough to be convinced by that, right? In a week where GDP rose by just 0.3%, which narrowly avoided a triple dip recession, our services are being chopped here there and everywhere, but in all of the wrong places. It is the poor who spend money here and that lack of disposable income is what is making our economy suffer. Only the rich can spend money and most of that is being spent abroad or quite simply, saved. Economic methods need to be changed. The people running the country need to be changed. The people of this country need to remember that phrase from Cameron ‘we’re all in this together’ as we stand by one another instead of turning our backs on each other. That’s what the government wants.

Thatcher destroyed this country and that must be remembered.

You Only have to have watched the news in Britain in the past two weeks to see the media and government are making a massive statement of propaganda. The funeral of Thatcher consisted of a crowd in which the majority of people were making a protest, turning their backs on the coffin as it passed, yet the media focused their TV cameras on the 10% who supported her destruction of Britain. We are being told to focus on the fact she was a woman and shifted the center ground of politics and therefore changed a lot in her time in office. I agree that she changed a lot, but not for the better, she ruined lives, she closed down the industries that the north thrived on, she sent people into poverty and made decisions that were quite frankly inhumane but yet we’re being told we should respect a woman who has passed away just because she had a family. As far as millions of working class people in Britain are concerned, Thatcher did not show respect to their families and communities as she tore them apart, so why should they show respect to her now? It would be a mark of disrespect to their families and communities to do so.

If you read the Daily Mail you will see headlines of how terrible these hoodie, working class scum are for ‘stamping on the grave’ of Thatcher. Surely, this mark of celebration in which millions of working class Brits are taking to their streets in celebration shows a sign of just how much destruction Thatcherism caused and how there has been a huge sigh of relief at the passing of someone who destroyed the steel, ship building and mining industries. The woman was happy to see the north of England decline, she was wanted to destroy society and wanted people to stop thinking in terms of class. This was because, when Ted Heaths government was brought down by the miners the nation and the government knew the power of the working class and how they stuck together, and so to prevent this from ever happening again she attempted to defeat them. It brings me sadness to say that unfortunately, she did defeat the unions, but what she didn’t defeat was the working class, who despite all of the demonization of them in the media even to this day still stand strong together and the celebrations that took place yesterday are evidence of that.

The media in this country work closely with the government, they’re all run by right wing millionaires and it is not in their interest to speak against the government. You are seeing the wrong people being interviewed and the wrong people debating, its always the case. The people whose opinions matter most are that of those who suffered, the ex miners who had a look of emptiness in their eyes as youngsters handed them food packages, the pain and financial struggles that proved too much for families to cope and tore them apart. In the 20th century decisions to send people into poverty should not have occurred, but this was the way of the iron lady who didn’t have to meet the people whose lives she was destroying and it would be very silly of us to re write history only discussing her good qualities out of politeness. If we do this we will someday end up with another Margaret Thatcher, because the future generation will not realise that many of the economic problems they face are due to the economic changes she made. It is dangerous to do this out of sheer politeness, there needs to be a level of honesty about the pain and misery caused by Thatcherism.

The funeral was Tory propaganda, it was making a statement to the younger generation of how great their party is and how great she was. She had a funeral which cost £10 million which was funded by the tax payer and this is totally absurd in a time when cuts to the state are being made. It makes the statement that we don’t have money to look after the poor but we have a spare £10 million lying around for the most hated woman in Britain and this shows just how out of touch this government really is

Lets cut Tax and Horsemeat. Not income and opportunities.

The recent horse meat scandal in not-so-Great Britain comes as no surprise. As part of the Tory cuts, 700 food standards officers were removed, so something like this was always going to happen. Where there is a loophole in the system, people will find a way to make a product for a penny and sell it for a pound. This is another example why you cannot treat public servants as something you can cut and throw away as you please. These are real people relying on their jobs and income and the people in the country rely on them just as much.

This is exactly why supporting our small local businesses is good for a number of reasons, not only for the quality of food we are consuming, but also for our economy. However, it is clear that the people who are buying value and supermarket branded products are the poor, and it is not easy for them to go to their local butchers as their disposable income does not allow it. This is not a fault in the butchers, fishmongers or any other industry as the government would have you believe, rather it is a fault in the government’s taxation policies. We live in a society where if your income exceeds £1 million you will receive a £100,000 tax cut. Instead, it would be a better economic engine if we gave the poor a tax cut, allowing them to have more disposable income and raising the tax paid by the rich. When the rich receive a tax cut, they have more disposable income to spend in the South of France or other holidays. It is no coincidence that, as the rich get wealthier, the economy declines. By constrast, the British economy is being funded by the poor, who cannot afford to eat unless it’s a product that has been shipped across Europe and has horsemeat stuffed in it.

Aside from it just being a benefit to the economy, surely it is in our interest to change the current system of food being shipped across Europe, through Romania and France, and instead having it produced in our own country. This will ensure our food is a lot fresher and of better quality. Whilst the economic aspect of supporting local businesses is in the interest of the government, it is clear the quality of food isn’t. Why is this? Well it is not like the MPs are eating Tesco Value burgers now, is it?

The government is clearly out of touch with the people, because until you get a government is run by the people for the people this will never change. David Cameron recently stated (at a £400 a head champagne dinner) that the Conservative party are now a party of the poor. This in itself is laughable, but the fact members of the party refused to applaud after this speech shows you the extent to which they wish to disassociate themselves with us ‘plebs’. We cannot expect a man who lives on a hill in the countryside, who only ever attended the best public schools, to understand what people from East London, or inner cities up and down the country, really need.

Recently, a woman in the U.K who was receiving jobseekers allowance but employed in a voluntary job in a museum, was forced to swap this job for work experience in Poundland. This country is forcing people to work in meaningless jobs, purely to earn any income to survive as there is nothing else for them. It is all well and good that the government are encouraging work experience placements, but it is important that we ensure the work experience is relevant to future job opportunities. We have graduates unable to get any experience other than part time work in their local supermarket or a bar, and on leaving university facing unemployment or being forced to work as cleaners and shop floor assistants. There is a severe shortage of relevant work experience being offered to young people, especially in cities outside of London.

Unless the government improves the standards of living for the poor and produces a fairer taxation system to do this, there are only going to be more scandals such as the horse meat one. While the poor have no disposable income, they are only going to be able to buy the cheapest products from the big chain supermarkets as opposed to good quality fresh foods from their local small businesses. However, unless more opportunities become available to the poor, people are going to continue working in low paid jobs with no disposable income and will continue to buy cheap food.

Big thank you to all who voted me for this award

It’s all government propaganda, don’t believe a word

It is clear that the Tory party, like many governments around the world, is not actually improving the quality of life of the people, instead it is feeding them statistical propaganda. David Cameron adopts a clever technique that conveys misleading information, suggesting the government is improving in significant areas, when in fact, quite the opposite is the case.
David has just released a political party broadcast; in it he discusses that this government’s cuts to welfare, amongst other areas, have paid off because the deficit has been decreased by 25%. Sounds like progress doesn’t it? It certainly does to the average Brit. However, this is one example of this Tory statistical propaganda, the terms ‘deficit’ and ‘debt’ mean two entirely different things. Debt refers to the accumulation of yearly deficits, whereas the deficit is the distance between government expenditure and revenue over the course of just one year. So yes, David, well done for spending less borrowed money, but you’re still spending money that isn’t our own!
Our debt is therefore increasing, so how exactly are we planning to cut debt when it is still growing? Well, it is clear the Tories have no plan, well they have one plan, to tell porkies. The plan is to put across misleading statistics of improvement whilst the debt continues to rise, their plan is to let it rise by 60%, much more than the previous Labour government and nobody even knew about it!
It is the same story with inflation. On the face of things, Brits believe many items are not rising in price in their supermarkets. Infact, goods are decreasing in size and quality but staying at the same price, so that is inflation is it not? I would say so. We’ve just been told the burgers we’re buying in the U.K are made from more horse than cow to cut the costs. This is not always the case, sometimes you will get 100% of what it says on the tin, but in many cases it is a smaller portion than it used to be yet you’re paying more for it! The food is less fresh, thank you to the supermarkets for killing the butchers industry, so the inflation it seems is as misleading as the governments statistics!
Are you starting to see a connection here? It is clear everything is going up in price and down in quality, yet we’re being mislead to believe the opposite is that case.
It is clear David has learned a lot of tricks from the Rupert Murdoch brigade, and as we all know from the Rebekah case he is very friendly with them. I’m sure he probably learned it in a few text messages he received from Rebekah Brookes, LOL. You can see this propaganda in the PM’s attitude towards cutting the welfare state too. Everything the PM says on the subject, which is usually along the lines of ‘people who cannot be bothered to work receive more in benefits than people in work’ sounds almost like a quotation of something from The Sun newspaper, or any of Murdochs other media sources. It is clear that all these ridiculous statements are put forward to persuade the middle and working classes to turn on one of the greatest things about the U.K; the benefits system. After all, once you get the majority on side there is nobody to stand against these fascists, meaning they can take away our security net.
And it seems to be working. I constantly hear people saying now that there is a fault in the benefits system; that it is wrong that people out of work can be better off than if they were in a full time job. Anybody with half a brain cell can see that there is nobody out there that would want to be on welfare or unemployed, receiving the bare minimum to survive is not a desirable way to live. It is also interesting we focus on this, when some of the richest members of our society are tax cheats. Surely the £3million Jimmy Carr stole is costing the economy a whole lot more?

It is clear the government is spewing nothing but lies, and this is happening with governments and media right around the world. Don’t buy into it! If you came across a bunch of toffs born into millionaire families trying to give you advice on how to live your life would you listen? Probably not, because they would have no idea how you live your life, but it seems when it is printed in a newspaper or shown on the news channels it comes across a lot more convincing. The Tory propaganda is being bought into by the masses, which is deeply worrying for our society in the future.

It is clear Capitalism does not work, 3% growth forever is simply impossible!

The whole foundation of Capitalism, the whole aspect that it relies on to function immediately shows that it does not and can not work. Capitalism thrives on growth, in reality it relies on around about 3% compound growth forever, how do you maintain growth forever in a world of limited resources? It is easy for the richest members of society to ignore this as they are the only ones benefiting, they have the luxuries and the way money is being distributed is in itself destroying the economy, we are trying to cut welfare, but how can it be beneficial to an economy for the rich to be purchasing five mansions and keeping large amounts of money within their families? The attitude of take from the poor is unfair when you consider that we are not really taking a fair proportion from the rich, quite simply we are feeding the greed of the rich. Furthermore, it is certainly not moral for someone to own five mansions when we have homeless people who cannot even get a one bedroom flat! Any ideology that allows this to happen to me looks corrupt and unfair, but they have us believe that any argument opposing this is immoral…to me a moral society would be one that everyone has opportunity and equal luxuries, surely then Capitalism is not fair.

At the moment you have to find new investment opportunities for around $1.5 trillion, think of that in 20 years time…you’ll be in a position where you have to find $3 trillion, and where are you going to find those investment opportunities when they don’t exist! This is why many Capitalists are simply investing in assets, they are putting their money into things that don’t exist simply to make more money from…money! The idea of Capitalism is about that 3% compound growth and with this our cravings for material things grows in an even larger proportion, in fact we are now at a point where our materialism exceeds our resources and this is what has gotten us into this danger in the first place! It is an interesting point when you look at society and the world as a whole, it is only a very small percentage of people who are actually benefiting and are happy with the increased luxuries, those at the top of society are a minority and the majority of us are simply feeding their craving and thus living in poverty ourselves. It is quite clear that we cannot continue this growth forever and if we do not oppose Capitalism with every bit of energy we have, it will stay. However, to imagine a world still under Capitalism in 50 years time is a dreadful image, we will be running out of many resources we now cannot live without, we will be in a very unsafe environment in terms of our health to a point where we could all be pulling gas masks on every day. Also, most scary of all perhaps, the wealth gap will continue to widen and those poorest members of society will be a hell of a lot worse off than they currently are.

It is important, however, to point out that Capitalism has brought the majority many things we didn’t have before, it has changed the world drastically and due to economic growth and the resources we now have at our disposal life is certainly a lot easier and fast paced. However, with this comes added pressures and although the world is a more secure place than it was before, it is also a more anxious, competitive one and it is quite clear it is an unhappier one too. It is clear we need a change from Capitalism and many more left wing voices are now being heard, this is promising. It would be an ideal for us to now freeze economic growth, and instead learn to use these resources we have at our disposal efficiently and fairly. It would seem like a much more logical explanation to have 0% economic growth, we must distinguish the difference between growth and development. We can now instead work on developing peoples creative capacities and powers and thus re-distribute the resources.

With the global economic crisis it is a warning that we cannot continue living out of our means, we must also look to be running things in a completely different way. The media and Capitalists have been very clever in ensuring we are in a position where it is very hard to argue against the current way of doing things, but we must somehow find an opposition because whilst it is clear we need a change from the current system, it seems it is easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of Capitalism. Think outside the box.

Government and Media control is out of control!

It is clear...

Government and Media control is out of control!

It is clear that in many ways a government can cause more harm than good, especially if its being run by Cameron or Thatcher. Governments around the world are acting more like dictatorships, but due to a number of techniques used by the partnership of government and media the majority of us do not have an inkling that it is happening. It is terrifying the lengths they can go to to not only break up working class communities, but also to stop them questioning a thing. Governments are not working, maybe it is time to work without government.

So how are they keeping us from questioning their corruption? There are many examples of popular protest in the past that have taken place, particularly in the U.K and U.S.A and it is due to these movements that the leaders and managers of the state have realized they can no longer control people individually. These protests proved that the power still very much lays with those at the bottom of society because they are the majority. It is from this that governments have since learned to control how people think and to give lessons to people to control their emotions. There is a couple of trillion dollars per year spent on these techniques in the USA, from the way an advertisement is set up for the brain of a two year old to the way economics is taught at University level. All these techniques are put in place to ensure we do not care about the treatment of others, so that we do not have the emotion of caring that people may be treated unfairly by society. It is all set up so that we have the attitude of ‘if the person across the road doesn’t have something to eat, it’s not my fault, therefore it’s not my problem and therefore I do not care. Come to think of it, do you ever remember the famous Margaret Thatcher quote “there is no such thing as society?” The prime aim of the government is so that once we have learned these emotions, society can be broken up to a point where we live as ourselves and not as a community and then the government can treat people unfairly without the questioning of those it is affecting. It is all a lesson of oppressing emotions so that we do not even know it is happening.

We are being taught by thinking of only ourselves to not consider our negative impacts on the world that in the future will affect our children. It is all a de-humanization process, this is where the anti authoritarian aspect of Anarchism is important. We have our own minds, yet we are constently being told how to think and not to think for ourselves, we are allowed to push buttons every couple of years and change a few things and we are told this is democracy! All to keep us content with the oppression of ourselves and others in our communities. This control and technique of making us all become corporate robots of capitalism is quite clear, you only have to go to your local shopping center to see that a young girls favorite pass time is to simply ‘window shop’ … again, we are becoming controlled corporate robots. We have our own minds and no human being should have the authority to think for another human being, we cannot tolerate the dictatorship of government any longer, it is dangerous.

It is quite obvious that Capitalism is beautiful in the mind of someone brought up in a multi million pound household and sent to the best school in the country, but this is an example of why having someone running a country so out of touch with those at the bottom of society doesn’t work. You must give decisions back to the people, the same way a skilled mechanic knows what is best for him and his workforce over the managers that are hidden away in the office, the same goes for society. We know what is best for us, we know how our communities function, not someone who eats Caviar like it’s going out of fashion!

All round the world with the current economic situation, it seems as though we have all came up with the same unfair answer, the answer of destroying social security. It is quite obvious that while it is certainly the easiest answer to take it from the poor, it’s not the only one as by asking the small richest percentage of society to cut even the smallest amount of their ludicrous luxuries you could have a far more effective economic solution. Greed and Capitalism go hand in hand and it is quite clear it has gotten out of control.

Check out my site

http://voiceoftheunderclass.com/

No hope for the poor

In Britain 2012 we still have a Class war,

In Britain there is still no hope for the Poor,

They’ll do anything to stop us having a voice,

People are on the dole because they have no fucking choice,

Government is the hoover of the welfare state,

They suck it out and empty it on the upper class plate,

Cuts occur at the bottom but not at the top,

It is clear now that this corruption will never stop,

As the economy declines so will our rights,

Our bodies have scars from Capitalist bites,

We’re still repressed and our generation is blank,

We supposedly have ‘freedom’ whilst walking the narrowest plank,

They tell us how to act,

They act like dictators,

Yet they are the ones who are lying little traitors,

They think of us as scroungers,

The useless working class scum,

It is clear...

Osborne and Cameron are ready to attack Britain!

It is clear from George Osborne’s Autumn Statement released this week that the Tories will most definitely be grabbing their Capitalist penis, and they will be using it to fuck the working classes in the U.K harder than ever before. Osborne and Cameron are the best magicians in government, the cuts that they have made to the working classes are almost invisible! It is clear after trade unionists revealed from the statement that with these cuts being broken up into cuts to benefits and public services, by 2017 the poorest families in Britain will see 30% of their household incomes cut! That is some statistic when you consider that people on a low wage or those unemployed are already on the bare minimum, but this is the result of the medias lie, everyone on benefits loves being on them and they are too lazy to work! This is the final result of that lie being bought by the majority of this country, the Conservatives are living on cloud nine!

It wasn’t just the trickery of the hidden cuts that was impressive though, Osborne’s greatest magic trick was still to come. He has actually made his statement look as if it is FAIR! He has made it sound as though the richest in our society are about to pay a whole lot more in taxes in proportion with those at the bottom, this is what everyone in Britain has been waiting to hear, its great isn’t it? In reality, what has happened is that the richest members of our society have had their taxes cut from 50% to 45%, yet the super rich bracket has been significantly widened. So, in fact it looks as though the richest are being taxed more heavily. In reality, all that is happening is there are more people being moved into the richest bracket, but the super rich will be living even more comfortably after this budget. Come to think of it, I did hear something about Alan Sugar needing a new private jet, his old one was getting quite rusty.

The autumn statement kept referring to how the cuts to welfare can be justified, as the welfare needs to be benefiting hard working families, not those who are unemployed. However, it is obvious from the cuts that will be made, that anyone in work, right up to those earning an average income will have any welfare cut dramatically. So the argument of those in work being benefited by this does not add up at all. The only thing that seems to add up in the Conservative parties eyes is the welfare state, the bill is too high, but the bill for the royal family doesn’t seem to receive the same attention. It is important that we do not become blinded by the illusion that the lives of those at the bottom of society have improved, who cares if you have a smartphone when it’s clear that on a good income you’ll still never be able to afford your own home? In the 1930’s on an average wage you could buy your house on a 6th of your income, find someone doing that now? Or the illusion we’re better off because the working classes can now go to university, so many are ending up unemployed and homeless after it because their families cannot afford to house them. Life for the majority of us working class or middle class in the next few years certainly isn’t going to be rosy.

No matter where in the world you are reading this, it is clear that it is attack after attack on the working classes, there is only one war that should be interesting us at the moment and it’s the only one worth fighting, the class war! As the scum of society we are being attacked, the evidence is there to show it, the biggest crimes being committed at the moment are those in the houses of parliament.

The poor must wake up to the growing Extremism of the...

The poor must wake up to the growing Extremism of the Conservatives

So the current Conservative government in the U.K has been in power barely 2 and a half years, and while it has lived up to its promises to cut every area possible, they have also failed to hit every statistic in aiming to reduce the deficit. That really is some achievement, Dave. Instead of restoring economic growth promised by their government, we have instead dipped into recession three times. Now, I am not saying cuts should not be made, but the cuts are occurring in all the wrong places.

For instance, George Osbourne recently passed a legislation through Whitehall to make a further £10billion in cuts to welfare, but if those reliant on welfare have their tax cut, why are we so against introducing a mansion tax, or something that constitutes! Surely if the poorest are paying their share, the richest members of society should too? This is the result of what the Tories believe to be a ‘fair’ and ‘equal’ austerity plan, in fact there is nothing fair and equal about it! It’s the same old, ‘we don’t use it, why should we pay for it’ attitude from the Conservatives, why fund the NHS for those who need it when they’ve never used anyone but a private doctor? Our health comes second when profits can be made from pharmaceuticals and with the taxation it brings to the government why wouldn’t they want to privatize it all?

The problem at the moment, however, is the ‘scrounger’ culture that is being forced into our minds. To keep the working classes quiet at the same time as taking away their entitlements, you must ensure they do not know its happening. This is where the ‘scrounger’ lie comes in. The Conservatives have created a lie that the majority of those out of employment and claiming benefits are doing so because they are ‘too lazy’ to work. They have fed this lie to the working classes who are in employment and made them believe that those in their neighbourhoods are scum, that their taxes are paying those who don’t want to work.

It cannot be deemed fair that many of the underprivileged are losing their benefits when at the same time there are some of the richest in our society outright avoiding paying their way. Surely the £3 million Jimmy Carr was found to have not paid has cost the economy far more than an unemployed parent claiming a minuscule £55 per week? Gary Barlow was recently awarded an OBE, weeks after being outed as a tax cheat. I guess it is easy for David Cameron to get angry at the non existent ‘scroungers’ though, when he has the whole of News Corporation whispering in his ear everyday. Just the same as Jeremy Kyle whispers in the ears of the working classes daily on TV.

It is after Cameron recently called time on the ‘equality impact assessments’ introduced by Labour, and the lack of protest from those at the bottom of society that I became deeply worried for working class Britain. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it is the assessment by which laws can be passed in the U.K, it is an assessment that ensures those most vulnerable in society can not be discriminated or effected to great extent by government implementation. The current government has now decided to scrap that, basically meaning it can pass anything it likes. To the leaders of this country we are merely a statistic, and as those leaders of this country and countries around the world do not know what it is like to be the average man on the street, we can be nothing more than a statistic…and at that a statistic that is draining the economy. I never believed DC was an extreme Conservative, rather that term I’ve heard used of a conservative with a small ‘c’. However, it seems that as more and more is cut from welfare, and more legislations are passed, it seems a majority Conservative government would have us all working for 2 pounds per hour, starving, and working non stop purely to bring money into the economy so that the rich can get richer. It is quite ironic that the media in this country and other countries, especially America, aim to show us how terrible the left wing governments are operating around the world, how people are starving and child labour rises, yet the Capitalism in our countries is on the verge of doing just that if our economies do not grow soon?

New blog post coming in the next couple of days, stay tuned people!

New blog post coming in the next couple of days, stay tuned people!

Question Time: Janet Street Porter speaks out, and the BBC feel...

Question Time: Janet Street Porter speaks out, and the BBC feel the almighty blow.

Janet Street Porter was the latest in the guest seat and those hoping for her to bring controversy were not disappointed. She sparked the most exciting debate of the show which ended up with the BBC having a lot to answer for.

The show began with debates about the government’s handling of the West Coast Mainline and how the government attempted to scapegoat civil servants. As ever there was the commonality of the star guest speaking more sense than our politicians and this trend continued throughout the show, tonight it was Janet’s turn. Early debates about the mainline seemed to drag on longer than they needed and David Dimbleby eventually brought a close to the matter.

The lengthy debate over certain questions left little time for the more interesting issues, such as when the question was raised about whether we should investigate claims of abuse against Jimmy Savile after his death. The BBC unexpectedly ended up at the heart of the debate. Janet Street Porter kicked it off stating “A lot of people at the BBC knew what was going on.“ It was here when I realised exactly why this question was left until the end, if the BBC wanted to brush past this issue, that was not going happen. Janet rightly argued how people of position should not abuse their power, but also stated how this was going on within the BBC when she worked there and how people chose to ignore the situation. David Dimbleby being a regular face at the BBC attempted to clear it up by asking if her argument was based on rumours, however, she stated it was a lot more than this. If it was looking bad for the BBC here, it was going to get a whole lot worse.

An ignorant member of the audience attempted to belittle Janet by asking why she, amongst others, failed to publicise these claims sooner. This was when Janet dealt the final blow. She answered this question with how she herself had infact been molested when she was 10 years old and after attempting to tell her mother was hit for it, showing here that she of all people could understand what it is like to be a victim in these circumstances. She also stated how working in an all male environment made coming out with this sooner impossible. At this point the girl smiled nervously not expecting her question to backfire and the debate moved on. It was also interesting at this point to see how David Dimbleby never left time for an applause after Janet’s point. He swiftly moved the debate onto a topic about Boris Johnson’s plea for more money to be spent on Heathrow Airport.

It was here that the best point of the night was made though, and by Baroness Kramer of all people. She simply put an end to this nonsense debate stating that the government should be spending more money from the economy up north instead of worrying about the lack of facilities in airports down south. Fair point Kramer. There are far more important things the government could be spending the tax payers money on. The Baroness for most of the night seemed more in touch with the general public than any of the other previous MP’s on the show.

Debate about Ed Millibands conference was also raised, Douglas Alexander clearly using this as an opportunity to blabber on about how great his party leader is, it was Janet once again who shot him down. She argued how it is easy for his speech to be popular when the spectators at his conference were his own party faithful. She put it bluntly “ he doesn’t connect with ordinary people”. Ken Clarke argued that Labours rebranding is getting old, New Labour in 1997 and now One Nation Labour, regrettably I found myself agreeing with the Tory MP. Especially when he made the point about Ed Milliband’s speech sounding great to the ear, but having no content. Although isn’t that the story of all modern party leaders?

So the trend of the celebrity guest on the panel taking centre stage continued. It was certainly a night that raised significant debate which ended in yet another negative spotlight shining on the BBC.

This poem is about YOU...

They are keeping the working classes segregated,

Most of us label ourselves with a...

Ideologies are misleading us!

Most of us label ourselves with a political ideology on the political spectrum, if we do not we just label ourselves as right, left or liberal. What if I was to tell you you don’t have to believe in any one to have ideas and opinions? Actually, what If I was to tell you it would probably be for the better that we didn’t label ourselves with them at all? When it comes to politics we seem to be under the illusion that if we disagree with one ideology we must support the opposing one. So if we disagree with the left wing and communism ( which many of us do as we’re brainwashed by a Capitalist media ) then we must believe in the opposing? So for instance if we disagree with Capitalism but also believe communism is corrupt we will sit on the fence and be liberal.

This instantly limits how deeply we can think about things, it limits our questioning and its quite dangerous, because actually if this is true it probably means some of the parties are standing for policies they disagree with because they think they are of one particular label. So by stating where they are on the political spectrum they must instantly agree with everything that ideology says, even if they only agree with 60% of it. When the tea party of america says actually we don’t want this restricted market or business run by a big corporation we may agree but disagree because we believe them to be terrible.

Also because of this we manipulate ideologies and twist them to run them how we wish, however at the same time going with the label, this is very misleading. For example, we will believe it is more efficient to get our fish from a supermarket as opposed to a fishmonger as everything you will need you can get from the one store at the supermarket, when actually it is less efficient because you’re getting a far lower quality and far less fresh product. Because we all go to the big corperation supermarket due to our attitude of easyness we eliminate any competition on the market from smaller chain business which immediately shows that actually, this is not a FREE market. Many of us would blame this on capitalism, because it allows the big corperation to become so big and powerful in the market, actually this is not capitalism at all because we have eliminated competition from the market, the very thing Capitalism is based on, therefore we have just eliminated Capitalism..this is infact a socialist market. It is socialist because you have limited progression, you have very basic working class roles of shop till assistants and very few management staff who can barely call themselves middle class, you are almost eliminating the middle class and at the same time limiting the progression of the working class.

This is also why we always have the ” same old ” attitude with politicians, because we only have three possible answers, a communist, socialist, liberal or capitalist government. We are under the illusion we need a stable government when actually it would be ideal if it was unstable and new ideas could be put in place, it would be far more convenient if we could take some ideas from the left and some ideas from the right, but with our current attitudes we are limited to one or the other because we only allow ourselves to agree 100% with one particular place.

So we have a society and politicians that are limited to very few different opinions which is probably why there is so much corruption in politics, because we can not come up with a feasible question as to why politicians are not doing what they say. On the other hand we also have political ideologies that are being changed and manipulated so actually having these labels is pointless. What this means is that we also have politicians misunderstanding what they stand for, and this is deeply worrying.

Grey City

The past and future do not exist,

Hitherto it is called the present,

It acts just like a gift,

Future is imagination,

Past is memory,

But both are a vague image of reality generally,

Do not dwell on whats been,

Or worry of whats not yet seen,

Act on what you feel is right at the time,

Use your instinct as a bodily sign,

Instinct is a balance of decisions made in our lives,

Both good and bad at an equal divide,

This inbuilt bodily radar is all we need to decide,

And no decision is wrong or right,

So we should not live in regret or in fear of what might,

Education system and the method of learning is totally...

Education system and the method of learning is totally wrong!

The whole structure of our education system is based on goal achieving. Education is treated too much like sports, the kids who raise their hands in class quickest get to the finish line, however these pupils only understand the face of the answer, the slower pupils observe problems in more depth and gain an actual understanding of the underlying layers of the subject. Each subject is simply like an onion in which we can work down the layers to gain a deeper knowledge of the subject, however our education excludes this and those who answer quickest with a minor knowledge of the details are deemed the brightest as they are simply faster.

This is the problem with our politicians, they were those children in school who answered fastest and got to the finish line and thus have risen to the top. You can see this with how they perform and act, they acknowledge the problems we have in our society but never tackle them. They assess the problems but they do not understand the route of the problem and therefore they have no knowledge of the underlying causes of the problems so they can never put a successful solution to tackle these issues in place. Politics is about addressing problems in our society to improve the well being and quality of life of people within it, however to resolve a problem you must firstly understand the cause of it.

There are thousands of examples of this quick route over knowledgeable route in our society. One is the crafting and manufacturing of items, there was a time when things where built to last. Somebody who would make something would have not only a genuine passion for making it but also an in depth knowledge and experience in the industry. However now many things are made with cheap materials and by machinery and the mindset is not about the quality of a product but rather a profit driven mindset of how much money can be made on an item and how a market can be maintained by ensuring products break within a time period to ensure customers will consistently have a need to buy newly introduced products. Education is a lifelong aspect, we are constantly learning and sometimes the best way to learn is to gain experience in an industry, this not only educates the person working on the product but also the quality of that product or service to a customer. However now with everything being so heavily judged on academic skills via how they achieve in the education system at school, we no longer offer the opportunity for people to gain this experience as everything is based purely on academic skills and qualifications. This is a totally wrong way of going about things as many people are more practical and would learn better with a hands on approach as opposed to sitting exams and completing coursework at school.

Also it is a very harsh system to judge people on decisions and performances they made when they were 15 – 18 years old. Many people are not ready to make life changing decisions at this age and many people must go through a maturing process. If it is so that the new O – Level and CSE system will be brought in in the English curriculum it will introduce a two tier system where kids who are struggling will receive even less help than they currently do, it will also make it harder for them to get back on track later in life as they mature. To say GCSE’s are too easy and should be scrapped is very naïve, I believe this is a generation where education is more valued than ever before by the lower classes as well as the rest of society. There are students who are physically ill due to stress of exams and coursework with the places in University being considered a life or death situation due to the current job climate. Surely we should be happy that we have rising numbers of students going to university although it seems that the government want to make it as hard as possible to cut numbers of pupils going to university. We should be investing in the children of today as they are the future of tomorrow, surely having them educated to the highest standard can only be a good thing.

We are unemployed and ever so bored,

We try to protest but we are ignored,

Politicians keep us reassured,

That things will get better,

Our cities are so grey and dull,

Weighed down by the class system pull,

The bankers charge like raging bulls,

Only concerned with whether their own stomachs are full,

They even dictate to the government.

If you get your hands dirty you will be rejected,

Manual jobs are not respected,

A low income for some is a reality,

But this describes your personality,

But its thanks to the builder the prime minister has a home.

Elections give us a choice of right vs right,

But none are right,

Only left is right,

And two wrongs do not make a right,

So a coalition is a deadly fright,

And the poor will suffer regardless.

As deaf as the ear of a Politician,

Trying to persuade people to sign our disagreeing petition,

How many cries will it take before they listen,

As their shiny vehicles glisten,

Widening the wealth gap is their only mission,

Left wing is our ideological position,

We are stuck in a day to day routine,

Never ending like a running stream,

Saving all year for a change of scene,

Yet there is no other country we have seen,

Our bodies are weak and ever so lean,

Their Capitalism starves us,

Revolution Poem

Governments widen the gap between rich and poor,

To make it certain our limited luxuries are ensured,

Lower classes are only good in their profit driven wars,

Only the elites are allowed to bend the laws,

Given a poor education, but a private one can be bought,

Expected to comply to the system and not give it a second thought,

We’re not supposed to survive because it’s a set up,

I know many of us are now getting fed up,

There should be no surprises,

As the cost of living rises,

Politicians are corrupt criminals dressed in professional disguises,

We need to make our voices heard and start a revolution,

Instead of continuing to comply to this corrupt institution,
